Presented this week by Lt. Governor James R. "Duke" Aiona, Jr.

"Hawai`i high school robotics teams are using imagination, ingenuity and problem-solving skills to build robots, solve an engineering challenge and, most importantly, have fun while learning.

On March 27th, Hawai`i students throughout the state will join their peers from the mainland in a 37-team regional robotics competition at the University of Hawai`i's Stan Sheriff Center.

The success of these students would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of volunteers. Working side-by-side with mentors from engineering fields, supported by math and science teachers in our schools and cheered on by parents and community supporters, Hawai`i's students have a unique opportunity to shape their own future, and the future of our state.

If you want to volunteer to help our students gain an invaluable perspective into the world of innovation, while competing in a fun and educational environment, visit www.robotics.hawaii.gov."
